The school auditorium was filled with excitement on February 27 as students gathered for the annual talent show. The audience enjoyed a variety of acts, including singing, dancing, comedy, and instrumental performances. In the end, a group of six students—Elva Pan, Atulya Tripathi, Vivian Blatt, Jordana Latham, Sophia Fang and Yuxi Jiang—took home the top prize.
The group impressed both the judges and the audience with their amazing dance routine, and their performance stood out for its energy, teamwork, and preparation. The group said they wanted to combine their talents and create something fun for the audience. “I think our passion for dance was a big factor that brought us together and inspired us to perform together,” Pan said. “The idea kind of just popped up and seemed like something that would be fun and memorable. We love KATSEYE and K-pop in general, and we’re very inspired watching the girls perform and dance.”
Preparing for the performance required coordination and practice. The group spent several weeks rehearsing to ensure their act was perfect. “Finding time to rehearse wasn’t that bad especially because we did most of our rehearsing directly after school. Everyone understood that it was something that had to be done in order to perfect the performance,” explained Pan.
Despite their preparation, the group admitted that they still felt nervous before going on stage. Pan noted, “We were definitely a mix of nervous and hyped, but mostly just really excited to get out there, but the crowd’s energy really got us up and made the performance so much better.”
When the winners were announced at the end of the night, the group said they were both surprised and thrilled. “It was more than just a win. A lot of us were able to rekindle our love for dancing, and the talent show acted as a way we can share our love with others. The show also helped us realize that this is something we can do.”
Despite rehearsing for more than a month, they “just went into it for fun,” Blatt said. “I don’t think any of us expected to win.” Another student said “I think I can speak for most of us when I say we were pretty nervous, and once we finished dancing I was just glad we were able to pull it off. I’m so grateful not only for such an unforgettable experience but also to everyone who came to support us and cheer us on.”
With another successful talent show completed, the event again highlighted the creativity and talent of the school community. Thanks to the winning group of six performers, this year’s show will be remembered as a night full of collaboration, confidence, and unforgettable performance.
