Gigi Claps Back

Supermodel Gigi Hadid ranted on Twitter about Youtuber Jake Paul in February when he posted a tweet deriding her on-and-off boyfriend, One Direction alum Zayn Malik.

After seeing Malik at a hotel in Las Vegas, Paul said in a now-deleted tweet, “almost had to clap up zane (sic) from 1 direction because he… basically told me to f*** off when I was being nice to him… stop being angry cause u came home alone to ur big a** hotel room hahaha.” Paul later added in a second tweet, “bro he literally started yelling and freaking the f*** out… lol I feel bad for childhood stars.”

Hadid quickly defended Malik with a tweet of her own, and said, “Lol cause he doesn’t care to hang w you and your embarrassing crew of YouTube groupies…? Home alone with his best friends… unbothered by your irrelevant ugly a**. Go to bed.”

Paul later tweeted a statement blaming his behavior on alcohol.

A few days later, Jake Paul’s brother Logan Paul tried to set the record straight by releasing the footage from the confrontation with Malik. However, the video ended up mostly complicating the scenario. The video shows Paul holding a camera outside Malik’s closed hotel room door, repeatedly asking Malik to come out and talk, while Malik cursed him out from inside.

While some people mobilized against Malik following the release of the video, most people rallied behind Hadid and Malik, claiming that the video documents harassment. Many pushed for Malik to pursue legal action against Paul, citing Paul’s belligerent actions and not leaving the hotel room door after repeatedly being asked to.

Malik has not yet publicly commented on the feud.
