On November 10, 2025, Christopher Millwater, 52, was found injured with stab wounds at the Stony Brook Yacht Club. He was later pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital. Kacy Corso, 33, Millwater’s ex-girlfriend, has been charged with second-degree murder in the case.
Corso and her boyfriend, Victor Panebianco, reportedly went to the yacht club knowing that Millwater would be there. Corso stopped Millwater from exiting the parking lot using her car, which she drove into his. Panebianco then stabbed Millwater. Corso was arrested by the Suffolk County Police and denied bail, while Panebianco was apprehended in North Carolina and arrested there. Corso has pleaded not guilty to the charge, as officials worked to bring Panebianco back to Suffolk County.
It is reported that Millwater made odd Facebook posts in the days leading up to his death, including one that read, “Plenty of time to rest when I’m dead, so now it’s a quick shower and gym time.” Another read, “The Fog is temporary, the clarity that follows is welcomed,” among other seemingly eerie posts.
Millwater’s family has shared that the yacht club was a place he often visited, as he enjoyed fishing there. His nephew, Chase Millwater, shared with News12, “He took me fishing a lot; we did a lot of things together, spent a lot of time at the very beach where he was killed.” Other family members shared the irony that they felt, as the place that he loved so much for its offering of peace became the place of his murder.
