Field Trips to New York City

In light of the Paris attacks a few months ago, all trips planned to NYC have been cancelled. In the wake of the Paris attacks and a terrorist video showing images of Times Square, some schools have canceled field trips to New York City, even as officials insist the city is safe. A field trip planned the next day was cancelled because of the fact that we don’t know what is going on or what may come next.

Although many of you are sad, don’t be! All trips to NYC are resumed! Assistant Principal Kevin Finnerty stated that, “we are allowing field trips to the city.” Wohoo! However, if at any moment there is a safety threat, trips to the city would have to be cancelled to ensure the safety of students and staff. Parents are also notified of last minute cancelations in the forms for the trip. Mr. Finnerty also stated that, “we are always precautious, but at the same time we realize that we don’t want to shelter you kids from the city.” Thank you Mr. Finnerty.
