Poetry Day 2015

Poetry+Day+2015

On April 1st, students throughout all of Ward Melville celebrated Poetry Day in honor of National Poetry Month. Every English class, along with some foreign language classes, gathered in the LGI to recite and listen to poetry written by students and famous poets. Students and teachers showcased various types of poems, ranging from slam poems to lyrics from well-known songs. Many students also recited poetry in different languages, including Spanish, French, German, and Russian.

Poetry Day 2015 was a great day to bring students together to support one another through writing, express themselves, and expand their knowledge of poetry. It was a wonderful experience for everyone, and will surely be a lasting tradition in Ward Melville.
