The Brazilian Grand Prix took place on November 3, 2024, at the Interlagos circuit. It was an action-filled race as Max Verstappen pulled off an unexpected victory. In this action-packed race, five drivers did not finish, receiving a “DNF” status. The drivers were Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, both Williams cars of Franco Colapinto and Alex Albon, Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll and Haas’s Nico Hülkenberg.
The Interlagos circuit, formally known as the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, has existed since 1938. It was inspired by three well-known tracks: Brooklands in the UK, Roosevelt Raceway in the USA and Montlhéry in France.
Alain Prost holds the most wins at Interlagos, while McLaren has the most Constructors’ Championships wins at the track. Max Verstappen has also won here before, and last year it was George Russell who took the victory in 2022. This year’s race was full of errors by drivers but they were avoided by Verstappen. With this victory, he extended his lead in the championship with 393 points while Lando Norris came second with 331 points and Charles Leclerc third with 307 points.
At Constructors’, McLaren leads with 593 points, Ferrari has 557 points and Red Bull holds 544. There are only three more races this season, and at this juncture, anything can still happen.
