Top Thanksgiving Foods

Kathryn O'Sullivan

Thanksgiving is a great holiday for one reason: food.  It’s the one day of the year that a person can eat as much as they want (or can).  It also helps that the food is some of the best food ever. This is a list of the best Thanksgiving foods:

  1. Cranberry Sauce: This red jelly-like sauce is a great side, but there are a lot of people that would prefer to leave it off their plate, so it lands in the number ten spot.
  1.   Corn: Corn completes any Thanksgiving table, but it isn’t a strictly Thanksgiving food, so it falls at number nine.
  1. Cornbread: This tasty bread cannot be forgotten because it is a staple food and the number eight food for Thanksgiving.
  1.   Green Beans: These long skinny vegetables are good, but again not only for Thanksgiving so it’s number seven.
  1. Sweet Potatoes: The orange mashed vegetables are made better with marshmallows on top so it’s number six.
  1. Gravy: This stuff is like liquid gold; it goes with anything on this list so number five is a good place for it.
  1. Mashed Potatoes: Mashed potatoes come to mind when you hear Thanksgiving. They are also really good, but still shy of the top three.
  1.  Stuffing: A delicious combination of lots of things that most everyone loves.
  1. Pie: The best part is the dessert, and everyone loves pie.
  1. Turkey: Claiming the spotlight on Thanksgiving Day, this is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Thanksgiving, so it obviously had to be number one.
